My mom wanted a black male pug and the only one she found was a four hour drive away. She didn’t think about it twice! She got in the car and drove four hours to get me. It was the best decision she ever made! When she saw me at 7 weeks old she fell in love.
What is the story behind your name?
My mom in an English (literature) teacher so she wanted something Shakespeare related but my grandparents only speak Spanish and they wouldn’t be able to pronounce most names my mom was thinking of. One day Daddy randomly said “what about Oliver?” and everyone loved the name!

Mommy wanted to take pictures of me in my Matcha Buddy Belts and I literally stopped traffic because people wanted to see me modeling. The model of the Buddy Belts just makes me look so adorable that one person even got off their car to ask me what harness I was wearing!

I met my Humans at a Badass Brooklyn adoption event in Williamsburg. They like to tell the story that they didn’t even come to see ME (so rude)- they came to look at another adorable rescue pup. But I won them over with my cute little smile and funny floppy ear. And all three of us couldn’t be happier!
What is the story behind your name?
I’m named after Laruen Bacall’s character in “How to Marry a Millionaire”. My Daddies were watching it and thought that “Schatze”s ounded more like a dog name then a human name. Luckily they changed the spelling to to “Shotzy” for me.

Particular. Ornery. Floppy-eared.

I can’t pick! Both of my Dads!!!
What is your favourite food?
My boring old dog food pales in comparison to what I can dig out of the recycling bin!! I LOVE lifting that lid and digging around for an old yogurt container to lick all over. And if there is a rotisserie chicken plastic container? Forget about it!!! Im in puppy heaven!!!
What is your super power?
Im so good at burying bones and treats all over the house. Under pillows, between cushions, I’m squirreling them away for the impending Zombie Apocalypse.

They call it my “Ugly Face”. I call it my “Excited to Play Face”. You know, that face you make when you snarl all weirdly and kinda grumble excitedly, because you KNOW some tickles are about to land!

All of the parks of the South Bronx, and around Yankee stadium. So much greenery and open space!!
